Each year, The Red Riot Challenge pits alumni from South Portland High School against each other for another year of bragging rights. The "friendly" game is always entertaining and this year was no exception. Team Red jumped out to 2-0 lead before Team White broke the ice on a with one. Two more goals for Team Red and the lead was 4-1 at the half. The teams were back and forth in the second half with some great opportunities thwarted by goalies Liam McGibbon and Ben Clark. Teams traded goals and Team Red held on for the 7-3 win. Team Red was led by Aaron Gallagher (2g-1a), Rob Pascale (2g), and Joe Robinson (3a). Team White was led by Tommy Ellis (1g-1a).

After the Red Riot Challenge, The Middle School Skills Challenge took to the ice. This event has middle school hockey players participate in a variety of skill stations. As an added bonus, a few members of the Former Pro Showdown joined them! The young hockey players did great but the two goalies stole the show in the breakaway event by stopping nearly every breakaway!

The Former Pro Showdown is always a fast paced and competitive game and it lived up to the hype again! The team are made up of former professional and high level college players. Team Red jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before Team White put one on the board. From there the teams traded goals throughout. In the end, it was Team Red with a late goal and the empty netter to secure the 8-5 win. Team Red's balanced offense (7 different goal scorers) was led by Tim Hebert (2g-1a), Chris Ledwick (1g-2a), and Luke Church (1g-2a). Colin Greening (2g-1a) and Cade Blackburn (2g) led the way for Team White.

The final game was the Firefighter Classic. These teams are made up South Portland Firefighters and other local firefighters and public safety members. The game is always great but this year saw the most competitive match up ever! The teams battled through two 25 minute halves. There excellent opportunities for both teams that were often thwarted by the goal tenders. In the end, the teams had to settle for a 4-4 tie. The first in the history of the event! Team Red was led by Anthony Verville (4g) and Team White was led by Brooks Boucher (2g) and Jack Wilson (1g-1a).
